Petroleum Trading Operator

Swift Petrotrade requires a Petroleum Trading Operator for immediate employment.

Job Description

As a Petroleum Trading Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all obligations arising from the contract/charter party are carried out, and that any necessary requirements are compiled with.
  • Deal with cargo and freight counter-parties, terminals and vessels on a regular basis regarding all post-deal activities ensuring all necessary operational information is passed on in good time and documentary requirements are met.
  • Make cargo and vessel nominations, prepare and send voyage orders and monitor progress of vessels.
  • Appoint independent inspectors, expeditors and ships agents.
  • Ensure that all Operational Information is entered into Trading systems (FED/DEX, RADAR, etc) in timely fashion and ensure that adequate records are kept to meet the company’s legal and fiscal obligations.
  • Ensure that any necessary financial security is in place.
  • Participate in out of hours coverage arrangements.
  • Liaise with charterers to ensure smooth operations, avoid supply disruption and minimize demurrage costs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or Polytechnic Diplomas in a relevant field with at least 3 years of working experience in same role.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Prior knowledge and experience of Oil and Freight trading operations will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Trading systems such as RADAR / DEX / ISM / GMAS would also be advantageous.

Trade Finance & Accounts Manager

Job Description/Role

As a Trade Finance Manager, you will be responsible in managing the centralized trade finance operations activities – Bank Financing; Letters of Credit; Guarantees; Bills/ TRs and to participate in drawing up annual business development plans in trade and corporate finance and to implement these plans. You will implement objectives, policies and procedures manual and user manuals for trade finance, review requirements of business units in terms of operational support and execute projects related to trade finance operations, ensure their timely completion, achievement of objectives and cost efficiencies.

You will also be executing transactions within pre-set standardized turnaround times for all trade finance activities and service level agreements, review department delivery processes with a view to ensure smooth workflow within the department, reduce turnaround times and achieve efficiency and cost benefits, ensure proper check and balance approach for trade finance processes and monitor customer trade transactions, settlements and report any exceptions to concerned unit.

Requirements

 To be successful you would ideally possess minimum 10 years’ of experience in Trade Finance operations and at least 5 years managing the trade finance operations within the oil and gas industry, and has a degree in Business Administration, Banking or Finance from a recognized University or a professional qualification in Banking or International Trade Finance.

Risk Manager

Summary 

The risk manager will provide expert advice and support to the traders on a daily basis. At a senior level, he/she will act as the key point of contact between the risks and trading function for the oil business and will mentor and support junior level team members in risk, pricing, and valuation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Establishing a risk framework and provide support for its implementation, independent oversight ensuring compliance with the requirements of the framework, related policy(s) and guidance documents.

  • Defining Risk Appetite explicitly to communicate what level of risk is acceptable for trading function

  • Defining Risk limit Tolerances and Appetite for trading function

  • Developing standard methodologies to conduct risk assessments across the company; mitigate identified control weaknesses through the creation of appropriate action plans.

  • Developing appropriate Key Risk and Control Indicators for projects; subsequently monitoring and reporting of KRIs to proactively identify exposures or control weaknesses.

  • Ensuring identification, aggregation, and monitoring of operational loss events.

  • Ensuring the effective implementation of the organization’s risk management framework.

  • Continuously improve operational efficiency and effectiveness of risk management processes.

  • Monitoring risk exposure to ensure the day-to-day running of the business and that related barriers are resolved.

  • The areas of safe operations, security, incident investigation, contract management, training & development, emergency operations, and community awareness and outreach.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent

  • Experience in risk management with previous exposure working in a fast-paced, trade floor environment within a commodities trading house

  • Expert in oil products on a physical level with an understanding of crude oil, fuel oil, light-ends, distillates or blending. 

  • Have exceptional communication skills and can confidently step into a senior level position taking on a range of responsibilities that will directly affect the performance of the business.

Trading, Shipping & Logistics Manager

Summary 

This position manages primarily our global crude oil and finished petroleum products purchasing and supply activity and collaborates with market strategy team to identify and act upon supply chain opportunities focusing on asset optimization. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct day-to-day activities of crude oil and finished petroleum products trading: include: track and monitor world market movements; accountable for making instant decision on selling and buying for meeting profitability and optimization targets; Source, develop and manage domestic and international supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted crude oil and finished products supply.

  • Establish and sustain strong relationships with relevant industries, parties and counterparties to develop business opportunities within the petroleum and petrochemical-trading arena.

  • Communicate trades of the day to the relevant parties agreeing prices. Negotiates contracts for purchase/sale of crude oil and finished products supply within limits of authority and optimizes crude and finished products purchases and trades around company assets.

  • Negotiate and conclude market transactions on a spot/term basis according to guidelines given.

  • Interact with relevant departments in the company involved in the trading/commercial activity. Work closely with colleagues throughout the internal departments and other subsidiaries within the Organization.

  • Evaluate structured transactions for risk management provides market assessment for development of international tactical trading strategy in accordance with risk management policies.

  • Execute hedging strategies and develop analytical reports to assist in taking hedging decisions.

  • Gathers and reports competitive intelligence on underlying supply and demand forces impacting assigned region. Establishes and sustains relationships with key suppliers/counterparties.

  • Support trading strategies by using fundamental model analysis or trades with reputable counterparties that are back to back in nature.

  • Coordinate logistical arrangements to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of crude and finished petroleum products shipments.

 

 

Requirements  

  • Suitable candidate must have a master’s / bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics from an accredited college or university, or courses in energy, refining, marine transportation, or relevant.

  • 10 -15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Trading.

  • Solid knowledge of Oil & Gas commercial aspects, T&C, Contracts, LC and other Terms/means of payment.

Sales Executive

Summary 

The company is seeking a Sales Executive who will apply a consultative selling approach to aggressively grow sales to service providers and materials suppliers within various industries. Incumbent will also develop relationships with Oil & Gas companies to support the sales effort to service providers and materials suppliers. Incumbent will be responsible for making sales calls to key personnel in engineering, production and management, from those working in the oil fields to those at customers’ corporate and executive offices.

Summary
